Teaching

Kevin is an experienced and devoted music educator. In addition to serving as a drumline instructor for the Montgomery High School marching band for three seasons, Kevin has taught private percussion, piano, and voice lessons. His students have ranged from 7-year-old beginners to members of the New Jersey All-State high school wind ensemble. He has also worked with students with various learning disabilities including autism. Kevin believes in keeping a positive work environment to unlock his students’ potential and enthusiasm for music. He teaches all percussion disciplines (from rudimental snare drum, to keyboard percussion, to drum set), jazz and classical piano, music theory and composition, and musical theater singing for all age/skill levels.

In addition to his private teaching experience, Kevin has taught courses in introductory music theory, ear training/musicianship, jazz, American folk music, and music technology at Stony Brook University and the University of Pennsylvania. He also serves as the pit orchestra and orchestrator mentor for the Princeton University Triangle Club, the United States’ oldest touring musical comedy troupe, mentoring current students in techniques of Broadway-style orchestration and helping prepare the student orchestra for each Fall’s full-length, original musical.
